Mrs. Qualls' class is turning science into hands-on fun! Students participated in a Mystery Bag Lab. Students had to touch the items in the bags without peaking and wrote down properties to help describe the items. Students then made an educated guess on what they thought the item was based on their observations. Students loved the hands on exposure to deepen their knowledge about materials and their properties.

Mrs. Boltz and Mrs. Owens celebrated Dot Day with their classes.
Teachers read The Dot and completed fun activities with students! Some of the activities included making Dot Day crowns and drawings. Students also sequenced the story from beginning to end.
Mrs. Owens's 2nd graders graphed M&Ms to discover which color they had the most of and the least!
It was such a fun day of creativity, math, and making their mark!

This month, our Leader in Me focus is on Habit #1: Be Proactive. These students are exemplifying responsibility by actively taking charge of their lives and making things happen rather than waiting for circumstances to change. Congratulations to Chase Davis from Mrs. Qualls' class, Karter Dobbins from Mrs. Lofton's class, Andrew Schwartz from Mrs. Holland's class, Sunnie Davis from Mrs. Summersell's class, and Jhett Anderson from Ms. Weaver's class for their outstanding efforts!

For Teddy Bear Day, Mrs. Lofton’s kindergarten class enjoyed a hands on math activity with teddy bear cookies! The students received a small set of teddy bear shaped cookies in a variety of “flavors”. Students practiced important early math skills by sorting cookies into groups by color or flavor, and then counting how many in each group. Students enjoyed Teddy Bear Day and the sweet treats during their math lesson.

Today Ms. Hare's class got a sweet lesson in math! Each student received a pack of gummy bears and got to sort, count, and graph their bears by color. 🌈📊
Not only did this activity help students practice important graphing and data collection skills, but it also made learning hands-on and delicious.
Ms. Hare was proud of how engaged her students were. Math really is more fun when it’s colorful and tasty! 💛❤️💚💜🧡

Our kindergarten classes are collecting can tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House, an organization that provides a “home away from home” for families with children receiving medical care.
We are creating a video to spread the word about this project, and we’d love your help!
👉 If your child spent time in the NICU and your family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House, we invite you to share one photo with us to include in our video. Please send them in by September 10, 2025.
Your story will help our students understand the importance of giving back and show the real difference their efforts can make.
Thank you for helping us make this project meaningful! ❤️

Students in Mrs. Sullivan's 3rd grade class completed a Leader In Me activity with toothpaste and choosing the correct words. They learned that our words are just like the toothpaste because once it leaves the tube, it cannot go back in. Proactive leaders choose an “I” message instead even when someone hurts their feelings.
